Both Stryker and Pinehurst Golf Course were designed by the prestigious golf course designer, Donald James Ross. Although he was born in Scotland, Ross has laid the foundation for modern American golf and designed 400 courses in the first half of the twentieth century. An architect focused on the natural lines of the Earth, he famously transitioned from using oil sand to Bermuda grass on putting surfaces. Come play a round to see his exquisite attention to detail and complex designs while remaining true to the natural topography of North Carolina.
